DLP6500FYE: DLP6500FYE vs DLP6500FLQ

Part Number: DLP6500FYE
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP6500FLQ, DLPLCR65FLQEVM, DLPLCRC910EVM, DLPLCR65EVM, DLPLCRC900EVM, DLPC900, DLPC910

I want to buy the EVM systems about DLP6500 series for laser patterning, aiming for a high power output upto approximately 1W/cm2 at 532nm.

I've narrowed down my choices to two EVM models based on DLP6500FLQ and DLP6500FYE.

Here are the respective order lists which i choose for each model:

For DLP6500FLQ :

3) power supply

For DLP6500FYE :

3) power supply

Before finalizing my selection among these products, i have a few questions :

1. What are the key differences between the two EVM systems?
I've found differences in min illumination wavelength and pattern rate.

2. Are these systems suitable for my purpose to utilize the DMD?
If they are acceptable, please let me know the links to order the powr suuplys.

3. Is it the correct order list to use the DMD EVM system? If there are additional components needed, please advise.

4. From the DLP6500FLQ, can I remove the DMD mounts?

  • Hello Heeju,

    Very good questions.

Let's look first at the controllers:

The DLPC900 is an ASIC based system with custom firmware to drive the DMD.  It expects video input.  The EVM has an HDMI/DisplayPort receiver that can be fed from a video card.

This is a lower cost system.  It should be capable of the power you listed above (with sufficient cooling).

The DLPC910 is an FPGA based system and does not have a video receiver. The DLPC910 EVM requires an external FPGA EVM such as the Xilinx VC-707 EVM board.  RIght now these are hard to find.

The APPS_FPGA build is made for the VC-707 and would need to be modified for other FPGA EVMs.

    I hope this helps.
