DLPC7540: I have a troubleshooting to connect with HDMI

Part Number: DLPC7540
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP650TEEVM, DLP650TE,

hello.
I am planning to use the DLP650TEEVM for research by connecting it to HDMI.
Flash_DLPC7540_DLP650TE_LED firmware was installed.
When I set External video in the EVM GUI to the default settings and connected HDMI, the computer only recognizes the EVM and does not display the screen on the DMD. And the connection is disconnected and reconnected every few seconds.
Below are the resolution settings I tried.
1080p 8bit 60FPS RGB 444
2160p 8bit 60FPS YCbCr 420
2160p 8bit 60FPS RGB 444

I tried both NVIDIA and AMD connected GPUs.
The manual states that D6 LED is a Low Level error and that D15 LED blinking quickly is also an error. Is this the problem?
Thank you.

  • Good afternoon,

  • Hi

Did you reprogram the EVM board with the latest firmware image on ti.com. Did you follow the guidelines as mentioned in the sections 2.3 and 2.4 of DLPC7540 EVM user guide?

If the answer to both of the above is yes, when you put the jumper back from J9 to J64 and powered on the board, did you see the splash image. Also, is the EVM connection stable when in splash mode? Are D5, D6 and D7 LEDs steadily on?
