DLPLCRC900DEVM: DLPLCR50XEVM video pattern mode resolution

Part Number: DLPLCRC900DEVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPLCR50XEVM, , DLP500YX, DLP670S

Hello.

We adquired a DLPLCRC900DEVM to be paired with a DLPLCR50XEVM. The devices work as expected when using pattern on the fly mode, however, when attemping use with video mode or video pattern mode, there is no option to set the display resolution to the same as the DMD. (2048x1200)

The recommended resolution offered by windows is 2560x1600 at 60 hz, and there is no option for 2048x1200. We need 1 to 1 pixel mapping between the video source and the DMD mirrors. Furthermore, when attemping to display a image to the DMD with video mode or video patter mode it is clear not all micromirrors are active, and only a square region of the DMD shows a resized pattern resembling the sent image.

Is there some step or configuration we are missing to use video pattern mode with 1 to 1 pixel mapping?

  • Hello Alejandro,

It sounds like the DEVM EDID is programmed for the DLP670S rather than the DLP500YX.

Please look in the GUI to make sure that the FW is programmed to the DLP500YX.  It will show on the DMD radio buttons.

Next open the directory where the GUI folder is installed on your system and look for a directory called EDID.  Inside this directory there should be folders for each of the DMDs.  Select the one for the DLP500YX and then look in the DP (Display Port) directory and the HDMI directory.  Follow the readme instructions for each to reprogramm the EDID for the DP and HDMI ports.

Let me know if that solves the issue.

  • Thank you, this solved my issue. I had the correct FW but not the EDID

  • Alejandro,

I am glad this solved your issue.
