We want to use DLP4620S for HUD product, I saw the datasheet introduction of DLP4620S-Q1,and DLPC23xS-Q1 datasheet.Here,I want to confirm,may DLP5530Q1EVM board can used to DLP4620? I have an DLP5530Q1EVM board,and I made new board by DLP5530Q1EVM Power board and Main board schematic，and our HUD product worked well。

So， can you help me confirm this problem?

Hello,

Unfortunately, the DLP5530Q1EVM is not compatible with the DLPC4620S DMD product. The PCB layout and mechanical mounting of the DMD is different. The DLP4620S is in a smaller and lower cost package compared to the DLP5530. This means that the PCB design and mounting is different. This is the EVM that is compatible to the DLP4620S.

hello,if we design DLP4620S DMD board ourselves,may DLP5530Q1EVM driver board and main board can used for DLP4620S？Because I see that the schematics of DLP4620SQ1EVM and DLP5530Q1EVM are almost the same.on the side,we have optical module designed for DLP4620S.

The HUD LED Driver board can be reused as it is the same design. however, the Controller board is now broken into two separate boards.

1. Contains the DLPC231 and TPS99000

2. Contains the DMD

Yes，Jason，I know that.

1.I see DLPC230 and DLPC231,they just have difference in package,so I think DPLC230 also can use,is that right?

2.For DLP5530 Controller board,I also designed a separate board myself, so as DMD board for DLP5530; so if I design a separate DMD board ,the controller board may use,is it?

Hi Jianyong,

1. Yes, you can use DLPC230. However, we would recommend moving the DLPC231 if you are redesigning the PCB.. It is significantly lower cost and smaller package size.

2. Yes the controller board could be compatible with the DMD. I would use the DLP4620 schematics as a reference point.

Because we designed our product for DLP5530 at first, and its controller board used DLPC230, I just want to test whether it work or not for DLP4620 DMD.If it work well, in new PCB design, I will use DLPC231 if necessary.

Jianyong,

Yes the DLPC230 will work with the DLPC4620. The silicon die is identical between the DLPC230 and DLPC231. It is only a package change.
