DLP9000XUV: Compatible Controller with Video Interface

Part Number: DLP9000XUV
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC910, DLPLCR90XUVEVM, , DLPC900, DLP9000, DLPLCRC910EVM

Tool/software:

Hello E2E Experts,

Good day.

I have recently purchased a DLP9000XUV DMD hosted by a DLPLCR90XUVEVM evaluation module for my university-based research. The most straightforward interfacing with this device for me would be to plug it as a second/external monitor. However, I am having difficulties finding an appropriate controller. The manual and website suggest DLPC910-based controllers, but I could not find a suitable one with any video interface. Reading the e2e forums, DLPC910-based controllers do not have At the same time, DLPC900 is listed as the one supporting DLP9000 (but not explicitly DLP9000XUV), and DLPC910 is listed as the only one supporting DPL9000XUV: https://www.ti.com/tool/DLP-OMM-SEARCH#supported-products

From my understanding, the https://www.ti.com/tool/DLPLCRC900DEVM development board should provide the necessary capability, but it is unclear if DLP9000XUV is supported.

Could you please advise on a suitable controller via TI or possibly external parties? I am happy to sacrifice the refresh rate at this stage.

Regards,

TI-CSC

  • Hello Jonard,

Regrettably the DLP9000XUV is not supported by the DLPC900 controller, only the DLPC910.  The DLPLCRC910EVM is intended to be paired with an FPGA board with FMC connectors.  The board that it was developed in with is the  Xilinx VC707 EVM board.  That board has HDMI input, but the user would have to program the VC707 to process the incoming video and generate the necessary output to the DLPLCRC910EVM board.

The DLPLCR90XUVEVM is designed to mate with the DLPLCRC910EVM with in turn mates with the Xilinx VC707 board.  There is complete example code for the VC707 EVM provided that loads patterns over USB to display.
