DLPDLCR2000EVM: DLPDLCR2000EVM Throw Ratio

Part Number: DLPDLCR2000EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC2607

Tool/software:

Hi,

In the datasheet, the EVM is listed as having a throw ratio of 1.6, but when measured during testing it appears to be closer to 2.2 (Throw distance / Image Width). Is there any advice on whether this is actually the case or if there are settings that need to be configured to change the display size?

Thanks

  • Hello User,

Welcome back to the E2E forums and thank you for your interest in DLP technology and we hope to assist you with your questions.

Is there a certain throw ratio you are targetting for your application?

I am seeing about a 1.7 throw ratio after using the focus lever to focus the image with just the EVM on initial power up. I have a throw distance of about 13.25 inches and an image width of about 7.75 inches.

Alternatively, from the DLPC2607 programmers guide, you can use the following commands to define and crop the active region. With this you can adjust the image width.

  • Hi,

Thank you for that feedback. I will check and repeat our measurements at the same distance when possible.

If it is different, I will look into the image cropping to see if that is already being applied, so thank you for providing that info.

    Kind Regards
