Hi Experts,

I have a DLP6500, but today I realized that its video mode suddenly doesn't work, and its other modes work fine. I'm using an HDMI cable for my video mode, and it was working fine all morning, but just now I noticed that the computer can detect the presence of a second screen, but it won't project the picture to the DMD. Video mode doesn't work, pattern on the fly mode works fine. 

I've been using this video mode for a long time with no errors, and just an hour ago I didn't make any changes to the settings, but the DMD's on-screen video mode suddenly stopped displaying my computer's image. 

I tried following the below troubleshooting guide but video mode still doesn't work, I'm currently using an HDMI cable.

  1. Please put a jumper on J11 (boothold) and start up the board. 
  2. Then start the GUI and select the "Chipset Type" radio button on the left vertical panel.
  3. Go to the Firmware page and select a known good Firmware file. (You can download the default one from the http://www.ti.com/tool/dlpr900 page).  Be sure to select the 6500 image.
  4. Then press Upload.  If it uploads, power down, remove J11, and restart.
  5. try a different USB cable and port on the computer, and if available a different computer.

    I would like to know if the IT6535 chip is compatible with the DLPLCR65FLQEVM.  I mean, are all IT6535 models compatible with the DLP6500? Could replacing the IT6535 potentially resolve the issue of the video mode screen not displaying?

    Hello Joselito,

    Yes the IT6535 is compatible with the 6500 ship.  Please ask them to see what resolution the PC thinks is actually attached.  It should be 1080p.  If it is not have them follow the EDID reprogramming instructions in the 6500 EDID directory of the DLPC900REF_SW directory.

    Did they try another computer?  It is unclear in the question.

    Hi Fizix,

    I tried different computers, the resolution is 1080p, but video mode still doesn't show the screen, I changed to a new IT6535 chip, and found that even the boot animation is gone, and in the gui interface can only select video mode by default but still doesn't show the screen, other modes can't be selected, what is the reason for this?

    The next thing would be to have them try to send internal test patterns.

    Also could they please send a screenshot of the GUI when it says it is connected in Video Mode.  And also the Video settings page.  I need to see the status items on the far left of the GUI and the Video Settings
