DLPC6540: Actuator Type parameter of XPR Actuator Waveform Control Parameter register reads as NONE

Part Number: DLPC6540

Tool/software:

Hello,

I'm working with a Young Optics International 4k projector, the NVR-F, that uses the DLPC6540 internally. These are 4K projectors that use an XPR. My question concerns the read-only "Actuator Type" field of the XPR Actuator Waveform Control Parameter register, opcode 0xB5. On these projectors, reading this parameter always returns 0x00, indicating NONE. Can you elaborate on what exactly this means? There must be an XPR present and active, otherwise the projectors wouldn't be able to display a 4K image. Since it's not reasonable to expect you to have knowledge of the implementation details of an external vendor's projector, can you perhaps provide some clarity as to how the DLPC6540 firmware determines what to set the Actuator Type to?

Additionally, we have been unable to display the XPR calibration image using the opcode 0xAB. Does this command have any prerequisites for it to work? Do certain specific commands need to be written beforehand?

Thank you for your time.

  • Hello Zach,

Can you please answer following questions for better understand your problem?

1.Can you say where you get the software project for your Young Optics 4K projector? Did Young Optics give you a reference project? They would know what the actuator type is using in their 4K projector.

    2. Can you see if the actuator is working when you displaying an image?

    3. Do you enable XPR calibration mode?

    Regards,

    Lori
