Lightcrafter unable to boot

Hello.

When trying to read out the trigger signals with a scope, I think I might have shorted someting in the Lightcrafter development kit.

When I now connect the power supply the LEDs on the lower board blink but nothing happens on the upper board. The Leds on the lower board blink shortly from red to green and red again and after a while the green one stays active while the red one is not.

In addition I noticed a large white spot on one of the IC's (winbond 25q32bvsig) on the top board, which causes me to think that this one might be blown. See image below

.

Are there any options to recover this lightcrafter? Any suggestions are welcome.

Best regards,

Ard

  • Hi Ard,

If you are interested, we have a Lightcrafter compatible board set that you can purchase to replace your electronics. Since it looks like there was a short-circuit of some kind, there may be some damage to the Driver board, which provides the power.

You can purchase here at our eStore, and just remove the DMD option since you already have a working engine.
