Discovery™ D4100 VS LightCrafter 6500 EVM

Dear engineer,

I plan to use the LightCrafter 6500 EVM to create patterned illumination in the optical microscope for my experiments. However, it seems that the SDK for LightCrafter 6500 EVM is not available now.

Fortunately, I noticed that the SDK for Discovery™ D4100 is now available on the market. So, I am wondering the difference between Discovery™ D4100 and LightCrafter 6500 EVM. Which one performs better?

Best,

Xianke

  • Hello Xianke,

For raw binary pattern speed, the 4100 platform is still the fastest (highest bandwidth) chipset solution from TI DLP Advanced Light Control.  The LightCrafter 6500 however has many more pattern storage and other features built in that do not have to be implemented by the user, such as grayscale images and pattern loading schemas, etc. . . that are useful for structured light or other applications.

The SDK is third party product from our Design Partner Wintech.  The best depends on what you are attempting to accomplish.
