We do not have the firmware available on TI.com as of now. We are working on getting the firmware available by end Q3/early Q4, 2015.
Can you please provide more information about your application so we can point you in the right direction. Typically if you are buying optical engine from one of our eco-system partners, they will provide the firmware along with the optical engine. You can access the list of eco-system partners who have optical engine for this chipset here:

DLPC6401 firmware only supports display applications and is not compatible with DLP4500 DMD. For 3D scanner applications that require the DLP system to generate and display patterns, DLP4500 + DLPC350 chipset has to be used. DLPC6401 controller is only designed for display applications where the controller receives 24 bit RBG video frame and creates a video frame on the screen using the DMD.
