Hello,
I'm currently working with the DLP4710 EVM with DLPA3005 & DLPA 3439 chips.
I looked for the 3D & Parallax feature on the documentation. But I did not find any information.
How can I do to enable these features ?
Thank you.

Thanks for your quick feedback Nadine!
Does is also appl to the keystone correction issue
Hello Ahmed,
Thank you for your interest in our DLP Technology.
I am not sure if I understand your question fully.
In general keystone is only supported for the DLP2010 (854x480) chipset and the DLP3010 (1280x720) chipset. In case of the DLP4710 (1920x1080) we currently don't support keystone but there is always the possibility to let the front-end processor take care of keystone.
Our 4710EVM reference design doesn't have this capability. We leave it up to our customer to implement if needed.
Best regards,
Nadine
Hello Ahmed,
In our reference design we used the ITE6801 which is a HDMI receiver and a MSP430 as a front-end processor.
The MSP430 is handling the communication between the receiver and the DLPC3439 controller.
For keystone support you would have to use a front-end processor who is capable of doing the keystone for you.
I am not sure what you mean with the contrast in this document. The document is explaining the different I2C commands which can be used to control the DLPC3439.
Can you please clarify ?
Thanks,
Nadine
Hi Nadine,
Would it work if we used the front end processor that is used in the other EVM that support keystone function?
Otherwise could you maybe tell us whcih front-end processor is capable to do it ?
Regarding "contrast", i'm sorry i wasn't clear enough. I mean the ability to increase/decrease contrast and brightness (similarly to the settings available on usual Tvs and projectors on the market).
Many thanks again for your great support Nadine!
Cheers,
Ahmed
Hello Ahmed,
The ITE6801 is only a HDMI receiver which doesn't do any image processing like keystone. Therefore keystone is not supported on our DLP LightCrafter 4710EVM.
We have a few companies which we know that they are providing processors which would have the keystone capabilities. I listed a view of them below but since we leave it normally to our customer to pick the front-end solution this list might not show all the available companies.
Brightness can be increased and decreased by adjusting the LED current of the system. The LED current adjustment can be done by sending I2C commands to the DLP controller.
Our DLP LightCrafter GUI has the capability of adjusting the LED current so you can just try it out. The only way to adjust contrast would be with our LABB algorithm..
I would like to refer you to following app note http://www.ti.com/lit/an/dlpa058/dlpa058.pdf. This feature is also supported in our DLP LightCrafter GUI.
Best regards,
Nadine
