I cann't figure out the imaging with LightCrafter4500 User's guide. as follows by the video from TI

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC350, DLPR350

I follow this video from youtube or TI

DLP® LightCrafter™ 4500 Firmware + GUI Update Version 3.0

I am not sure what's wrong. I should note that the light used the unit is only UV light. Did I miss something? or the file named DLPC350_v3dot0_REL? I just want to make sure the unit is ok.

Could you send me this file?

Thanks,

HW

  • Hi Heming,

Welcome to the DLP Forums and thank you for your question. I'm sorry you're having difficulty with your EVM.

Can you provide a bit more detail about what you're trying to do and what isn't working? The Lightcrafter 4500 doesn't have a UV light, only RGB. Are you using an EVM produced by a different manufacturer?

It looks like you found the software and the user's guide, so that's good. As far as the firmware goes, you'll want DLPR350.

    Thanks,
    Paul
  • Hello Paul,

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I get a new unit with UV light (Actually only blue light works) from Wintech (TI DLP Pro4500). They told me it is same with lightcrafter and with same user's guide. I learn it from the guide and the video from TI.

    I installed the DLPLCR4500GUI-3.0.0 and DLPR350PROM-3.0.0 .

I upload the file (DLPR350PROM_v3.0.0.bin) which contains three images.

Then I followed the video to DLP® LightCrafter™ 4500 Firmware + GUI Update Version 3.0 (www.youtube.com/watch to learn the pattern sequence (Variable Exposure).

First, I choose red light, Flash index 1, R7, pat exposure/period 500000 and then add pattern to sequence.

Second, choose green light, Flash index 2, B7, pat exposure/period 2000000 and then add pattern to sequence.

Third, click send and click save solution as custom.ini.

Then, Browse the firmware file (DLPR350PROM_v3.0.0.bin), select the custom.ini, and use monochrome(Blue channel).

Add the Firmware Tag as custom_001 and save updates as custom_001.bin

Last, upload custom_001.bin. But the result is different.

    Video_image:

my unit_image from a CCD camera:

I don't understand why it is different.  I don't know what's wrong or missing.

    Please take a look.

    Thanks,

    Heming

  • Hello Paul,

I figure out this problem. I bought the unit without the foucing lens and the problem of diffraction shows. Right?

    Best,
    Heming
  • Hi Heming,

Since you are using the Wintech 4500, I recommend that you reach out to them () for further support on this model. We do not have one of these at TI that we can test with.

That being said, if there is only one color of LED (blue), trying to display green or red will probably not work, you will only get the blue bit-planes. I hope that makes sense.
