DLPC910: I2C Interface

Part Number: DLPC910
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-00570

How should I correctly use I2C Interface in DLPC910?

Should I just connect these two pins, Y8 and AA8, to GPIO pin of my FPGA?

Will it be enough for correct I2C Interface operation?

In "TIDA-00570 High Speed DLP Sub-system DLPC910 Main Board" you have more destinations for these pins, not just FPGA. Is it mandatory or optionally?

  • Hello User,

As long as you FPGA GPIO can meet the I2C standard (voltage & timing) and can send and receive I2C commands and responses correctly this should work.

In the EVM the Cypress USB chip, the USER_FPGA and the DLPC910 can all communicate with each other over I2C.  This is not required, but is very useful for debugging.
