DLPDLCR2000EVM: Tunable light source using Display 2000 EVM

Part Number: DLPDLCR2000EVM

Hi there. I wonder whether I can place a focusing lens in front of LightCrafter Display 2000 EVM to focus light on a tiny spot. I would like to generate a specific light wavelength at a time to convert that into a tunable light source.

  • Faheem,

Thanks for your interest in our DLP technology.

As a first step, I might recommend checking out our DLP products applications page (www.ti.com/.../overview.html). They may help give you a head start in your application of interest.

What is the purpose of a focus lens in your application?

    Best Regards,

  • Hi Faheem,
Thank you for your interest in DLP technology. One option is to re-image pupil of the optical engine by placing a lens in the front of the projection lens and move back & forth to create an image. The image distance and size will be limited/ fixed by lens and you may not have many options.

This approach can be used or not, will depend on rest of the system requirement (down optical path). You may have to try with several lenses and explore what works for your system. The optical engine used in the EVM is from a third party and optical prescription is their proprietary information

    regards,
    Vivek Thakur
