Software for Discovery1100 Kit

Hi,I found the TI DLP Discovery1100 Kit in our lab and wanted to do experiment with it.But I only found Discovery1100 GUI without usb driver,so I can't control the unit.

Is  there any archive of the orignal USB software which i can use to control my DMD on Windows 7 or Windows XP computer?

    Hello user, 

    This system is no longer made and there are no drivers that will work in Windows 7.  It was designed for Windows XP.

    When you say you found the Discovery GUI without USB driver, do you mean already installed on some machine?  If so the driver should be on that machine. 

    The default location is: C:\Program Files\DMD\Discovery1100\Drivers

    If you found the GUI installation file it should install the drivers in the location listed above.

    Hopefully this will get the board running.

    Hello Fizix,

    Thanks for your reply and I sucessfully communicated with Discovery1100. But when I try to send command to it, there is no pattern on DMD.

    Here is the script I used to control the Discovery1100. Is there anything wrong?

    Enid,

    This looks correct. You should have and image in memory, then load, and then reset. Since you chose global, this should work. Do the mirrors change from the unpowered state (i.e. all "on")? Or do they not change at all. Try adding a wait and then send a clear command. Do the mirrors change state (to "off")?

    However, this looks like the Discovery 4100 Interface. I can't remember what the Discovery 1100 interface looked like. What does the Window title bar show? It is not shown in your picture.

    If it is the 4100 Explorer, it will not work with the D1100 drivers. If it is the 1100 Explorer interface, then I do not know why. Is this the original DMD that came with the kit? Also go to the DMD control section and set the invert (or "comp") bit and run the script again and see if the mirrors are in a different state.

    But I have another question is that can the driver of discovery1100 used for  64bits computer?

    Enid,

    I regret to inform you that the drivers are very old and do not comprehend a 64 bit operating system. You can run it from a 32 bit OS virtual machine inside of a 64 bit OS system.
