Light commander USB problem

Hi

We've just got a Light Commander and we are having trouble getting it to talk to the computer.

The drivers appear to be installed correctly and it appears in the hardware manager when you plug in the USB cable.  However it fails to communicate when initialising the software.  Trying to run the Demo results in a USB time out failure.

Any ideas??

  • Hello Peter,

Welcome to the DLP section of the TI E2E community.

First, could you tell us a little about the system you are installing this on.  Like the operating system, the process and memory.

Second,  please try completely uninstalling and reinstalling the LightCommander program.  Occasionally something goes wrong during installation.  It will appears to be correct but does not work right.  I had to do this on my desktop station.

Let me know how it goes.

  • Thanks but we still have the same problem.

We have now tried three different computers, currently we are using a Dell Vostro 200, running XP Pro SP3 with Dual core 3GHz processors ad 1 GB of ram.

In each case the problem is identical.  The Light Commander software fails to initialise and after a delay display a screen of red failure icons.

  • Peter,

I am sorry that you are experiencing these issues.

At this point you should contact the source that you purchased the kit from, or contact Logic PD directly:

They should be able to assist you further.
