DLPA2000: DLPA2000

Part Number: DLPA2000
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP2010, DLPC3430, , DLPC3435, DLPDLCR2010EVM, DLPA2005

Hello all,

I am a proud owner of the DLP2010 and DLPC3430 in the specification of the DLP2010 (Revised July 2016) it is stated, that also a

DLPA-Driver is needed for running all the parts as a chipset. As far as I understand the specification from the DLPA2000 there is no

PCB incorporated. Do we have to design the board by ourselfs?

Best,

Lars

  • Lars,

No, you do not need to design the board from scratch yourself. Rather, you should adapt the existing board design we provide for users on TI.com.

The DLPDLCR2010EVM, which is linked below, allows for evaluation of the chipset. It implements the DLP2010, DLPC3435, and DLPA2005 together:
    www.ti.com/.../DLPDLCR2010EVM

The reference design associated with this EVM can be found here:
    www.ti.com/.../tida-00325

You may notice that this reference design uses the DLPC3435 and DLPA2005, instead of the DLPC3430 and DLPA2000. These components are similar to each other, so this EVM/reference design is still a great place to start when designing a board for the components you are using.

    I hope this helps.

  • Thanks for the initial reply Philippe,

I have two more general questions:

We want to remove the window of the DLP2010 are there any constrains about the functionality if the
digital micro mirrors are exposed to the regular atmosphere?

Is there any way to remove the glass window without destroying the DMD beneath?

    Best,

    Lars
