DLP5530-Q1: DLP,HUD

Part Number: DLP5530-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC230-Q1, DLPC120-Q1

Hello,

I am interested in DLP5530-Q1 Chipset, and i want to know how  can i use the controller of this product,

is it a programmable ic? and are there any GUI or Firmware for interface?can i build my specific pattern  through config a firmware or GUI?

need another microcontroller or FPGA  for interfacing?

Thank you

  • Hello e n,

The DLP5530-Q1 chipset consists of the DLP5530-Q1 Automotive DMD, the DLPC230-Q1 Controller, and the TPS99000-Q1 system management and illumination controller. Please see the datasheet for the DLPC230-Q1 for the interface and programming requirements.  There is no need for an additional microcontroller.  The chipset controller accepts video input over either an OpenLDI or 24 bit parallel RGB interface.  The video interface can be used to display any image with a supported resolution, found in the datasheet.

  • Hello,

Thank you for you replying, yes i saw datasheetsof this chipset, and i know intefaces between them, i want to know for HUD application,
we should display for example "speed indacaor" ,how can i show real time sensor changes on a visual component or pattren?
we dont need a FPGA or.. to build those visual component of indcator or...?
  • e n,

The DLPC120-Q1 controller does not have any real-time graphics rendering capabilities.  There is some storage space for static splash images or test patterns, but anything changing dynamically will require a GPU or FPGA of some sort to create and send the video data to the DLPC120-Q1.
