DLPC6401: To find a test solution for board level DLP Controller

Part Number: DLPC6401

Hi 

Currently we using a DMD to verify/test our DLP controller board in SMT workshop. I think this solution is an inefficient and also is easy to damage the DMD.

Is there any other solutions to test DLP controller?

    Hi qinghua,

    Welcome to e2e forum and Thanks for showing your interest in DLP Technology.

    Please check the power sequence of DLPC as mentioned in datasheet : refer to Figure 2, Figure 3, and Figure 16 timing as shown below –

    Make sure the PWRGOOD getting asserted only after above core voltages are stable and after asserting POSENSE signal to the controller.

    Once you confirm the power-up sequence is good.

    Next step is keep the system in boothold (put jumper j26 ) and connect the JTAG to program bootloader.

    Once you are successfully able to program boot loader next step is get the DLP ComposerTM lite version to program the firmware.

    After successfully upload firmware, you can see heartbeat LED to verify the system is good.

    Then you can connect DMD to check final image on DMD.

    I think I didnt describe my problem properly.

    I am looking for an online test solution in SMT production line. Currently, we using a normal test solution, connect DMD to test DLP controller PCBA in SMT production line. But this test solution is inefficient and also caused some DMD damaged.

    Hi QH,

    If in production line you want to verify the Image on DMD then this is the only way to check the DLPC. But if you want to check the only DLPC board is alive then heartbeat LED is suffices for the DLPC check.

    I don't think we have any online test solution for that.
