DLPC3438: DLPC3438+DLPA3000 factory test.

Part Number: DLPC3438
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPA3000,

Hi, Sir

Currently, we want to know how to defined factory tests, for DLPC3438+DLPA3000.

Which signal need to be test in factory?

Thanks

  • Hello Tao,

Can you please clarify what specific tests you are asking about? Are you asking if there are suggestions of how to test your end product?

    Thanks,
    Kyle
  • Thanks Kyle

Currently, we have our first DLP projector driver board. (DLPC3438+DLPA3000). And we want to know which kind of factory production line test is needed for board level test, to verify SMD MFR.

    Thanks

  • Hello Zhang Tao,

What do you mean by SMD MFR? Is that surface mount device manufacturing? Are you looking for a way to verify the device was soldered correctly?

Obviously once you flash the firmware to the device you will see if it is able to boot-up and operate. I

    Thanks,

  • Yes, Kyle

In the factory, we need to verify board performance is ok or not, normally.

So we just need to confirm the board can be boot up? it's enough, right?

  • Hello Tao,

I'm assuming you've already done a full suite of tests on your initial development units? If so, then you will just want to verify basic functionality (such as boot and ability to communicate). You may also be doing factory calibration to ensure you have an appropriate white point for each unit. Other than that it will be up to you and your system how you would like to test it. Some customers may perform burn in for a period of time.

    Thanks,
    Kyle
  • Hi, Kyle

Actually, I just find the test data from TI.COM for some power supply, Vofs Vbais, etc for my first build. ... so that's enough or not?

If yes, for factory test, I just make sure the function is ok.

  • Hello Tao,

Ultimately it will be up to you to decide what is enough. You should obviously confirm all of the voltage rails are in spec during your initial validation efforts. However, during normal factory inspection you may not need to do as thorough testing (i.e. you could just make sure everything boots up). This will be dependent on your desired level of quality control and system level testing though.

    Thanks,
    Kyle
