Hello to everyone,

is there a way to get a replacement for the flex cabel used with the Lightcrafter EVM?

It seems like there are pins missing, but i couldn't find a seller. Also in this thread (https://e2e.ti.com/support/dlp/f/94/t/732297?tisearch=e2e-sitesearch&keymatch=flex%20cable ) there is an additional component mounted on the cable. Is this custom or am i missing something?

Unfortunately, there is not a way to get a replacement flex cable from TI without buying a new EVM. You could potentially try contacting your EVMs optical engine manufacturer. It should be described in your EVMs user guide. Which EVM are you inquiring about?

Hi Philippe,
The device i use is the DLP® LightCrafter™ 4500.
Do you have a link or the name of the vendor? I don't know what to search after or who the vendor could be.

So, in the manual there is a company called "iview limited" listed as the producer of the Lightengine and they sell a very similar product on their webpage (www.iviewdisplays.com/pro_view-20.html) but the support said they aren't the producer of this flex cable and therefore can't provide it.

Any ideas who the producer of this flex cable could be or where to get a replacement from?

Hi Philipp,

There may have been a misunderstanding because iView is indeed the manufacturer of the flex cable in LCR4500. They are the ones that can provide you a replacement flex cable.

He confirmed the cable is not from their company. Do you have any other idea where to get such a flex cable from? Or is there no other possibility and we have to buy the complete Lightcrater just because of one single part?

Philipp,

The EVM is built by a third party and they source the optical engine. The flex cable is not sold a spare part.
Please try reaching out to Wintech diigtal and if they have a flex cable .
