DLPC910: Develop board test program

Part Number: DLPC910
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-00570,

Hi,

I have a tida-00570 High Speed DLP sub-system DLPC910 Main Board. How can I test if it is available?
I tried to write a breathing lamp with ISE and downloaded it through jtag, but failed.
Error message uploaded.
Is there any special test procedure?

  • Hello User,

Welcome to the DLP section of the TI-E2E forums.

Are you setting the clock source to the PROM or to the LX30 - APPS_FPGA?  Whichever setting you previously used, switch it to the other and retry.  If that works let us know.

    Fizix

  • Hello Fizix,

Thank you so much for your reply.

I just wanted to do a simple led blink test, but I tried both clock settings and still failed.

Here is my schematic and test code.

Thank yous very much for any suggestion or information!!

  • Corey,

Please clarify what you mean by "fail".  Is it failing to program the APPS_FPGA (i.e. the LX30) with the bit file or after programming does it fail to run the code that got programmed into the LX30 - APPS_FPGA?

At one point the "Error.txt" log appears to show that it completes:

INFO:iMPACT:579 - '2': Completed downloading bit file to device.
    INFO:iMPACT:188 - '2': Programming completed successfully.

But then 5 lines later it shows:

    INFO:iMPACT - '2': Checking done pin....done.
'2': Programming terminated. DONE did not go high.

I think you many need to debug your JTAG interface.

    Fizix

  • Hello Fizix,

What I mean by failure is that it fails to download bit file directly from FPGA (LX30), and the TCK pin of JTAG is tested without waveform.

When I tried to generate PROM file and download it to PROM chip, the TCK pin of JTAG had square wave and downloaded successfully, but the FPGA still could not run.

Is there something wrong with my FPGA?

    Thank you for your advice!

    Corey

  • Hello Corey,

I would check your JTAG interface before assuming something is wrong with your FPGA.

It looks like your schematic is just the reference design schematic with no changes and should therefore work.

I am not familiar with the Digilent tool you are using.  Have you used this to successfully program other platforms?

    Fizix

  • Hello Fizix,

Thanks for your help and please forgive me for not replying to you in time.

I have found the problem and can write the program.

After grounding one end of the resistor R64 and raising the DONG pin, FPGA burning can be realized.
