DLPDLCR660TEVM: Unresponsive DLPLCRDC4422EVM/DLPDLCR660TEVM combination using GUI. Possible firmware mismatch.

Part Number: DLPDLCR660TEVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPLCRDC4422EVM, DLP660TE, DLP470NE, DLPC4422

Hi all,

It's been a desperate few days with deadlines looming (no thanksgiving for us).

We've recently bought a DLPLCRDC4422EVM/DLPDLCR660TEVM combo. It booted up just fine and for a few moments after turning it on, we were shown the splash screen. Connecting it to a PC also seemed fine. However while following the instructions detailed in the DLP®Products ECD 4K UHD EVM User's Guide ( http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/dlpu077a/dlpu077a.pdf ), things started failing when we accidentally loaded the “Flash_DUAL_DLPC4422_DLP470NE_LED.img" which we realised too late wasn't the DLP660TE image. However the image file for the correct image is nowhere to be found and all download requests have failed. All 'get' requests to the device fail, while 'set' requests via the GUI seem to write, but nothing happens on the DMD screen. Our PC still recognises the device when it's turned on and off, or connected/disconnected.

So all in all, two questions:

1. Are we correct in believing that the source of our problems are from our firmware mismatch? As in, since we have the .img for the DLP470 instead of the DLP660, our commands are not going through? We're worried we've done something else dumb.

2. Where in the world do we get the correct image file? All download requests are either rejected or lead to a 404. This has been incredibly frustrating.

Thank you to whoever reads this!

  • Hello Robin,

Thank you for using the DLP E2E forums.

If you load a mismatch firmware when using the DLP660TE DMD, then you will have issues as the controller will see the wrong DMD connected and not fully initialize.
As for obtaining the correct firmware, thank you for bringing up this issue to our attention. We'll make sure this problem gets resolved as quickly as possible but in the meantime please accept my friend request so that i may obtain your email address to send you the firmware asap.

    Regards,
    Oscar

  • Hi Oscar,
