DLP660TE: /DLPLCRDC4422EVM: HDMI to V-by-One solution?

Part Number: DLP660TE
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPLCRDC4422EVM,

Hi all,

this was already asked in the forum, but not yet answered: Is there any interface board from HDMI 2.0 to V-by-one in order to feed a video signal into the DLPLCRDC4422EVM.

Thanks for any hint,

Matt

  • Hello Matt,

Thank you for using the DLP E2E forums.
At the moment, there is no front-end interface board that we can publicly recommend. What we can recommend at the moment is to reach out to companies such as iChips, M-Star, ITE and other like front-end manufactures for a product that is compatible with our EVM. The firmware package associated with the DLPLCRDC4422EVM contains the video timings necessary for a front-end to work with our EVM.

    Regards,
    Oscar

  • Thanks Oscar, I will pursue the path you recommended. I have two more related questions:

    - Could you state which video timings are supported by the EVM firmware? Especially, are there modes included for the DLP660 native resolution (2716x1528), ideally at 60 and 120 Hz (just to make sure, another post stated that these should be possible with the 2x4422 / 660 combo)?

    - Objective for the application in development is to have at least one HDMI 2.0 input without requiring extra converting hardware for HDMI-to-Vx1. I assume that at east one Intel HDMI IP would fit to the Arria 5GX FPGA on the EVM, is this correct, and, furthermore, could you state what would be the maximum number of HDMI inputs that could be placed onto this FPGA?

    Best wishes, Matt

  • Matt,

Recommended and alternate timings supported by the Vx1 input are listed in DLP660TE_Vx1_Input_Video_Timings.xls; there are timings for 2712 x 1528 @ 60 Hz and 120 Hz.   This file is available in: DLP660TE-FW: DLPC4422 Controller Support Firmware for DLP660TE DMD

Regarding HDMI in the Arria 5.... This is not something we have scoped or planned to do, so we really can't provide any estimate on what might fit.

    Regards,
    Gary
