A customer is requesting for the maximum pattern that can be stored in the memory of the following DLP devices, DLP6500, DLP7000, DLP9000, DLP9000X, DLP9500




  • Hello Danilo,

    This is primarily determined by the controller for the system.  The DLP7000 and DLP9500 use the DLPC410 controller and have no pattern storage.  Any memory has to be implemented on the customer side in their micro-controller or front-end.  Similarly the DLP9000X uses the DLPC910 which is a faster and enhanced version of the DLPC410 controller.  As such it also has no memory in the controller and similarly must be implemented on the customer side.

    The DLP6500 and DLP9000 use the DLPC900 controller which has sufficient DDR memory for 400 1-bit patterns or about 50 8-bit patterns.  The Flash Memory on the EVM can store images.  The number of patterns depends on how well they compress.  Very compressible patterns can store the 400 1-bit or 50 8-bit patterns, but uncompressed images can only get about 170 1-bit or about 22 8-bit patterns in Flash Memory.
