DLPNIRNANOEVM: Scan failed

Hi,


I've been using the device over a month. I installed every .exe files needed to work with and in one of my laptops is working fine (I can make a scan easily) but on the other one, I can't make a single scan. 

I get different types of error:

"scan failed" - If I try to make one

The others may appear or not, 

"no scan config stored in the device"

"error reading scan configs from device"

"error reading hibernation state from device"

Rarely: TIVA and dlpc mismatch. 

Sometimes, in GUI, in utilities menu, if I try to read the sensors, there is a usb error (the device is connected). If I get the values from the sensors, I can press the scan button but I'll get "scan failed".

What I noticed  in device manager is that there is a unknown device always turning on and off. 

Any idea?

    Hello Luis,

    Welcome to DLP forum and thank you for your  interest in DLP technology.  This seems to be an issue with USB port of laptop. Some of potential problem could be:

    1. Sometime USB cable is not a good quality and it has higher voltage drop, as result EVM is not getting required power/drive voltage. Please ensure that we you have tried with multiple cables.

    2. USB port current rating - Please refer to section 4.1 of DLPNano EVM user guide (page 40) for power require through USB. Please ensure that the USB port in the laptop meet those requirement.

    If these two are right, then try reinstalling USB driver. 

    This seems to be an issue specific to a laptop & its USB port.  We may not be able offer any help beyond this.
