DLP650LNIR: constant oscillation of all micromirrors

Part Number: DLP650LNIR

Good day.

I wonder is it possible to oscillate DMD micromirrors with constant frequency, f.e. 100-5000 Hz. and is it possible to change the oscillating frequency manually? I mean is it possible to make a bit simpler device with equal constant oscillation (like sine tilt profile) for all micromirrors in array?

Best regards,

Ivan

  • Hello Ivan,

This is an interesting question, and I understand your reasoning in wanting to do so.

The DMD micromirrors are bistable ("on" and "off") and are designed to spend as little time as possible in the transition from "on" <--> "off".  They are designed to land on spring tips.

All of this means that they are specifically designed not to oscillate in the fashion you are describing.  We do not foresee creating such a device.

What is it you want to do?  It may be possible to approach it in a different way.
