DLPDLCR4710EVM-G2: Technical details and usage of trigger input & output pins on DLP LightCrafter Display 4710 EVM-G2

Part Number: DLPDLCR4710EVM-G2
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC3479

Hi,

We are currently checking out all the resources available on the device and we are wondering if it is posible to enable-disable the DMD using an external signal (while in 'External Video').
I seems that the module comes with a connector (TRIGGER) for this purpose but the GUI for the device doesn't show any menu to use it and there is a lack of information about its usage about it (only found info regarding ).
Can you guys share any hints or info about the proper usage of this TRIGGER terminals (for the 4710 module)?

Thanks.

  • Hello User,

Welcome to the E2E forums and thank you for your interest in our DLP technology.

Trigger Input signals are only supported when using internal pattern streaming mode (so patterns are programmed and stored within the DLP controller. The closest thing to a Trigger Input for external pattern streaming mode is the VSYNC of the video input.

Per the DLPC3479 programmer's guide, it is possible to activate a display curtain which disables all DMD output (command 0x16): https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/dlpu081a/dlpu081a.pdf

Is this the sort of functionality you are looking for?
