DLPC3439: Regarding LABB dimming function

Part Number: DLPC3439

Hi TI,

I have two questions about the LABB dimming function.

I guess the dimming function is realized by adjusting angle of DMD millers through DMD Sub-LVDS signals.

Is my guess correct?

Regarding this feature logic, is it the same in DLPC3440 as well as DLPC3439?

Regards, hide

  • Hello Hide-san,

Welcome back to the E2E forum and thank you for you interest in DLP.

LABB is a an image adjustment algorithm used to balance dark and bright sections. This balancing is done digitally by allowing the mirrors more time on or off. The angle of the mirror does not change outside of these two states. More about LABB can be read in the Intellibright Algorithm App Note or the datasheet for the controller. This behavior for the algorithm will be true across controllers.

    Regards,

    Austin
