DLP9000: DLPC900 chips not working

Part Number: DLP9000
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC900

Dear TI,

We followed Users Guide to test the DLP9000 evaluation board, however after we connected an official 12V power supply and we saw D5, D11 and D12 LEDs light up green. But we didn't see D7 or D9 toggle on and off. We also cannot identify the device on our computer mac/linux/windows for any versions of interfaces. The supposed auto-scanning after turning on is also not happening.

According to Users Guide, this indicates that the DLPC900 chips are not working. We've already contact with the distributor company. I would appreciate it if you can provide any advices on this issue.

Thank you!

JD

  • Hi JD,

    Thanks for writing to us.

To get issue in detail, please provide following details.

    1. When was EVM (Controller board, DMD board) purchased.

    2. Is this EVM used for the first time or was it working before.

    3. Please share the images of Controller board, DMD Board, 12v Power supply.

    4. Is flex cable between controller board and DMD board connected properly.

    5. Is D7,D9 lighting Green continuously or not glowing at all?

    6. Can you remove all the Jumpers placed at J10, J29, J6, J12, J3, J4 and recycle power.

  • Dear TI,

I think I managed to solve the problem by using another DC power supply which can hold larger current. It looks like it is working normally though we just start testing it optically.

    Thank you!

    JD
