DLPDLCR4710EVM-G2: USB-Serial Bridge Controller initialization

Part Number: DLPDLCR4710EVM-G2
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPA100, DLPA3000, DLP4710, DLP3010, DLP2010
Hi, TI
Seeing TI's reference schematics, I made my new PCBA which has DLPC3440 + DLPA3000 + DLPA100.
I would like to write a project file to SPI flashes through USB, using LightCrafter but I can't use its firmware update feature.
Its Start Update button in Update Firmware menu stays invalid even if I established the USB connection.
So, I checked signal waveforms. It seems that the USB-Serial Bridge Controller (CY7C625215) doesn't work correctly.
I guess the Bridge Controller needs an initial setting. e.g. GPIO etc...
Is my guess correct? In that case, Is it possible to let me know how to initialize it?
Regards,

  • Hide-san,

It sounds like you are using the DLP LightCrafter GUI to try to perform the flash write function.

The DLP LightCrafter GUI software is designed to specifically support the DLP EVMs on TI.com (so, the DLP2010, DLP3010, DLP4710, etc.). The software will detect what chipset you are using before performing the flash write. It is likely that you are encountering problems due to the chipset combination you are using with the system, which is not supported with any of our LightCrafter EVMs.

I will reach out to you in a private message to help you with support on this particular chipset.

    Best Regards,

    Philippe
