DLPDLCR4710EVM-G2: FLA7(LH90) Flash board's layout

Part Number: DLPDLCR4710EVM-G2
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP4711, TIDA-01226, DLPC3439

Hi TI,

I made a new PCBA to attach a DMD (DLP4711) and tested it with my DLP system but it seems that half of the mirrors don't work correctly. The mirror array coordinates which have issue is from (0,0) to (959, 1079).
As a trial check, I replaced it with a PCBA from TI's 4710EVM.
In that case the DMD's mirrors can all display correctly.
I've checked my PCBA pin connections and they all are correct. so I suspect the root cause of the issue belongs to a difference in PCBA's layout pattern.
I would like to compare these layout files to find out the difference but I can't find your PCBA's layout file on your web page TIDA-01226 which stores all technical documents related to 4710EVM. Is it difficult to share the layout file?
The PCBA's P/N number is 00.LH901G001 REV.B.
Its name is FLA7(LH90) Flash board.
I'm looking forward to a good reply.
Regards,

  • Hide-san,

The DLPC3439 (and DLPC3440) chipsets both have a pair of two controllers which write to the DMD in parallel. One controller writes to the Left half of the DMD and one controller writes to the right half.

Can you confirm that you are programming both of the EEPROMs on your system with the correct flash binary image? Each controller has its own EEPROM to connect to and grab binary code from. Are you writing different flash binary images to each EEPROM?

    Philippe Dollo

  • Hi Philippe,

    Thank you for your reply.
Since then, through some debugging work, I've found there are some pin assignment issues to DMD. I mean, as a matter of fact, the schematics had a connection defect. Sorry for teaching you the wrong thing.
The master side lane was assigned as option1 but the slave side was assigned as option 2.
So, I reconnected the slave side signal lines to DMD as option1 by soldering work and updated  the pin mapping option in FW from 2 to 1.
After these workarounds, the miller devices of all in DMD started to work correctly.
Again, sorry for taking your time.
    Best Regards,
