DLPLCR4500EVM: DLP LightCrafter 4500 GUI v4.0.0 cannot set more than 194 1-bit patterns on Patterns Sequence Mode

Hello TI Expert,

I am trying to show many 1-bit patterns by "DLP LightCrafter 4500 GUI v4.0.0". But when I set the sequnces more than 194 1-bit patterns, the software automatic exits.

As shown above, I set the 195th patterns, and then click the "Send" button，after that，the GUI collapses. So how can I deal with that if I want to set more 1000 1-bit patterns?

Have you tried the above on multiple computers? Does the behavior replicate across devices?

Wang Xi,

Following up on the above post, you may have a memory issue trying to send a large number of patterns at once from your device. Have you tried performing the same operations with 8-bit patterns instead? Let us know.

We have performed the same operations with 8-bit patterns as you suggested this morning. As you might expected, the software can work normally, and there are no crash occurs. So, is there a solution to this situation? We are looking forward to your reply.

Hello Philippe,

We have tried this operations on 3 different computers, 1 for windows 10 and 2 for windows 7. Unfortunately, the software crashes every time.

What version of the DLP LightCrafter 4500 firmware (not the GUI) are you using? According to this post you should be able to support at least 256 patterns with the latest firmware:

This seems to be a frustrating message，because we need to play more than 1000 patterns. The version of the DLP LightCrafter 4500 firmware is the "DLPR350PROM_v4.4.0.bin". BUT, according to your information in the link, we try the " Variable Exposure Pattern sequence" mode, and we have succeeded. Thank you so much.
