Part Number: DLPNIRSCANEVM

Dear Support Team!

Im an owner of a DLP NIRscan spectroscopy. The current firmware version is 1.0, but I want to update it to the latest 3.1 firmware but I'm having issues finding the software. According to the guide( page 41 C.1 part), a file has to be located on the webpage DLP NIRscan MicroSD Image for Windows. Ive made a deep research but I haven't find it. Could you please provide the MicroSD image please? Without the file the update can't be made.

Best regards,

Siket Zoltán

    Dear Navneet,

To update the firmware the SD Card Image is needed. The firmware is located on the website but without the sd card image it is not posibble to start the update process :) Please reupload the sd card image and refresh the guide. Thank you :)

    Hi,

The MicroSD Image file for NIRScan EVM link is as follows www.ti.com:80/nirscan-microsd-windows-v2
This is the latest image for the NIRScan EVM. Kindly be advised that this is different than the DLPC350 firmware, which is currently at v3.1. You can find this DLPC350 firmware on the NIRScan EVM webpage on TI.com. Kindly flash this both firmwares to upgrade to the latest version.
    Hope this resolves your problem.

    Thanks & Regards,
    Hirak.

    Dear Hirak,

tried to update the Nirscan EVM module but its not working :/ If I want to open the .img file I'm getting an error that the file is corrupted.

Currently the Nirscan module runs 1.0 firmware. Could you please send me a simple guide, how to update to 3.1? Is it necessary to take some jumpers from the boards?

    Which Lightcrafter software is needed?

The JTAGFlashreprogrammer is giving me an error showed below.

    Thank you :)

    Regards,

    Zoltan

  • In reply to Siket Zoltan:

    Hi Zoltan,

There are two separate firmwares for the two chips on the NIRScan EVM.

The first firmware is on the DLPC350 DMD controller. To update this firmware, kindly download DLP LightCrafter 4500 EVM GUI and DLPC350 Support Firmware V3.1. After downloading and installing both, run the Lightcrafter 4500 GUI and connect usb cable to J8 on NIRScan EVM. This Mini USB port (J8) provides access to the DLPC350 controller. This mini USB port is located adjacent to the RJ45 LAN port on the NIRScan Nano. Now the Lightcrafter 4500 GUI should show as "connected". On this GUI, go to "Image Firmware" tab, select the latest firmware and click upload. This should update the firmware on the DLPC350 controller.

The second firmware is on the Sitara Processor that takes care of scanning. For this kindly download the NIRScan MicroSD Image v2.0 package. The detailed steps on how to update this firmware is provided on the User Guide  in the section C.1 and C.2.

    Hope this resolves your query,

    Thanks & Regards,

    Hirak.
