DMD LabVIEW sample code

Could you tell me what platform this is in reference to?  [i.e. D4100, Pico, LightCommander or LightCrafter]

For the D4100 platform, please request this code from the Design House that you purchased your kit from.  Please see this link --> DLP Design Houses

We route the requests through our Design Houses to ensure compliance with US export regulations.

Hi Fizix, I got the code from my designer house for the DMD 4100 but I have a problem when I run the vi, there is a error. it recognized the chip 0.55 XGA but it cannot load the images. The error out says: program_FPGA.vi  How I can fix it? or what I am missing.

What version of LabView are you running?  And what version of Windows are you running?

Also, did you unzip all of the files from the zip file into one directory and run the vi from that directory?

Yes I unzipped the files in one folder and run the vi from there. I have 2011, 2012 and 8.5 Labview version and is not working in any of those...

Hello MBAE, The code is originally written in version 7.1 of LabView which operates on Windows XP. I know that there have been issues with using the dll under Windows 7.

What Operating System are you using?  Is it 32 bit or 64 bit?  If all else fails you may try using XP Mode in Windows 7.  That has worked for some.

Can you operate the D4100 with the Discovery Explorer GUI? or does it fail also?

I am using a 64 bit Operating system and Win XP. I can operate (load  and display images) the D4100 using the Explorer GUI.

When I run the labview program it recognized the chip but displays I think just the first rows on the image.

are you using windows XP 64 bit, or are you using windows XP 32 bit mode in another 64 bit version of windows?

I ask because I'm interested in having the drivers of the D4100 working in a 64 bit windows 7 so that I can access more than 4GB of memory while using it.

I am using the 0.95 1080p 2 x LVDS Type A DMD - Discovery 4100 Development Kit: DLPD4X00KIT in accelerator faciltiy's for imaging.

Where can I find a LabView VI program and communication driver for a 64-bit OS System for Windows 7 Pro ?

Unfortunately the DMD Explorer 4100 software does not operate in a system mentioned above so I am loooking for a LabView code to control the DMD.

Hi Blaine,

I did want to point out that WIndows 7 is only supported by LabView 8 or higher.  Additionally the LabView code uses the same USB drivers as the GUI.  The D4100 Loader.sys does not work correctly in Windows 7.  I know that some have been able to successfully use XP mode (i.e. Virtual PC) to run the D4100.

I contacted the Design House (VIALAUX) for the labview code, but they only gave me a program called ALP Basic GUI. which also does not work in OS 64-bit Windows 7.

Can TI help me with a driver or Matlab adapter code to communicate with the DMD, so I can write my own control algorithm ?

Does the ALP Basic GUI contain the .vi files? If so, you have to run it in XP mode on your Windows 7 machine.

We bought a light engine CEL 5500 from DLI. And the light engine used the DMD chip provided by TI. I wonder if I could request a sampling LabVIEW code to control the DMD chip. Thanks.
