Hey guys,

I tried to upload a Firmware to my Lightcrafter 4500. During the upload at 1% came a failure message and the GUI was frozen. Before the upload everything worked fine. Now I am not able to connect the Lightcrafter to the PC nor is the D4 LED doing anything.

What can I do to get the dlp running again? Is any additional Hardware needed(FTDI UM232H) and is somewhere a detailed description to the JTAG Flasher?

Thanks for your question and welcome to the DLP forums! Sorry that this happened to your LCr4500. SInce D4 is not doing anything, it means that the DLPC350 is no longer booting and the firmware is most likely corrupt.

To fix this, you'll need to follow the instructions here: www.ti.com/.../dlpu017a.pdf

Thanks for the quick answer.

I've have done everything like it's explained in the Flash programming guide.

Every step with the JTAG Flash Programmer tool worked well. I am able to connect the dlp lightcrafter with the GUI again (D4 isn't blinking). But if I am trying to upload the DLPR350PROM v3.0.0.bin Firmware to the lightcrafter I receive the failure message: "Flash Data Download Failed".

Afterwards there is no Connection via USB to the Computer and I have to do the first steps with the JTAG Flash programmer again to access the lightcrafter via USB.

Is anyone familiar with this Kind of failure message?

I'm glad that the JTAG process worked out. Weird that it won't upload the firmware over USB. That to me suggests some sort of hardware issue.

Did anything happen to the Lightcrafter before the first time it bricked? ESD event or was it dropped or modified?

Hi, before the first Firmware upload Crash everything was good. I haven't recognized anythink that could harm the lightcrafter.

I've tried it with another Laptop and the Firmware upload was successful...

That's great! Maybe there is a corruption problem with the driver on the computer side. Glad you got it working.
