Firmware upload fails

Hello,

I have a problem with the firmware upload. I did a new firmware with new images with the required resolution. Every time I'm trying to upload the firmware, with one, two or three images on it, it stops at about 70% of the progress bar. I tried a LightCrafter4500 and a PRO4500 in three diferent computers, including 64 bit and 32 bit operating systems.

Does anyone have any idea why I cannot upload a new firmware?

Hi Roger,

Sorry that you're having difficulty with the Lightcrafter 4500. I'm not exactly sure what is causing this issue, but let's work through a couple things:

1. Are you using the latest version of the FW and GUI?
2. What happens when it gets stuck? Any error messages?

Can you attach the images you're trying to upload? We can try to replicate the issue here.

Hi Paul,

1. Yes, I'm using version 3.01
2. When it stucks, nothing is happening. I need to restart the Lightcrafter and the GUI.

Can you send me a prive e-mail to (artigas@sensofar.com) so I can send you the bin file?

Another thought - we've seen issues when users start from 2.0 FW and build a .BIN file and then load with 3.0.1 GUI. What is the version number of the base FW you're starting with?

Hi Roger,

Your provided .BIN file does not load on our LCr4500 either.

I recommend the following:
1. Download the newest FW: http://www.ti.com/tool/dlpr350
2. Use v3.0.1 GUI to add images to the latest FW
3. Generate the new FW.
4. See if it uploads.

Hi Paul,

I'm using the following BIN file to start from:

DLPR350PROM_v3.0.0.bin

I think this is the latest one, and the ver 3.01 GUI for uploading it. The problem still persists.

Hi Roger,

After a little digging, I found out that this is a known issue with the v3.0.1 GUI and is currently being worked on. It has to do with the file size of the FW you're trying to load.

To get around this issue, we recommend that you build any FW you'd like to use with v3.0.1 of the GUI and then upload that FW using v2.0.0 of the GUI. You can find v2.0.0 here: www.ti.com/dlplcr4500gui-v2

Please be diligent about only using the v2.0.0 GUI for uploading the FW. For all other functions, including running the LCr4500 after the GUI is uploaded, use v3.0.1
