DLPNIRSCANEVM: Reflective and Trasmission mode with attached reflective head?

Part Number: DLPNIRSCANEVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-00155

Hello,

We have a customer who is asking if this EVM could allow for a reflective head to be attached?

Also, could this module allow reflective measurements in addition to transmission measurements?

We found the link to the design files (TIDA-00155), we need to know the feasibility of this.

Thanks,

  • Gabriel,

What sort of application is the customer interested in? Just to be sure, is the customer aware of the NIR scan Nano EVM, which implements a reflective head? It has different specifications, however.

Let me know what the customer says.

    Thanks,
    Philippe Dollo
  • Hi Phillipe,

Our application is in using this device to look at certain chemical compounds within plant matter that can be in solid or liquid form (opaque when solid, clear when liquid).

I know about the NIR Scan Nano and it does not hold the specifications  we need.

I have a design file I will upload (from TI) that shows the NIR Scan Benchtop with a reflective head. I need to know if the benchtop model, with the optional reflective module, If one can do transmission measurements as well as reflection (I bought the transmissive head standard version.)

I will upload a picture of this file later today.

  • Michael,

We make the NIRscan EVM on behalf of TI and there is a solution using a reflective head that I am aware of, but it is not publicly disclosable. Creating a dual modality would require some customization as the light paths are quite different for a transmissive style versus reflective.  So please contact us via our web-site contact form and we can follow-up directly.
