DLP2000: HDMI to RGB24/BT656/parallel conversion for DLP2000

Part Number: DLP2000
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TFP401, , DLP3010, DLPC2607

Hi ,

I am currently working with DLP2000EVM ,  My host processor gives out HDMI output  and to convert from HDMI to RGB24 bit  i used TI chip TFP401 breakout board from adafruit (https://www.adafruit.com/product/2219)   with a dot-clock display driver ,  but i was not successful , is the RGB output from TFP401 different from that  expected from DLP2000  ?

If i cannot use TFP401 , I  want to know ,  whether I can use ITE6801 IC   to convert from HDMI to RGB 24 bit ,  just like  the reference design (http://www.ti.com/tool/TIDA-00384)  , can i use IT6801 with the DLP2000 chipset .

Thankyou  for the help

  • Sripathi,

The IT6801 that is used with our reference design for the DLP3010 chipset should be compatible with the DLPC2607 chipset. Both systems use parallel RGB input, after all. It appears that the TFP401 does not use the same display format, so it is unlikely to work without additional interfacing hardware.
