I have a DLPDLCR3010EVM with me I want to use only the optical engine and the DLP board I dont want to use the EVM board can I power the Optical engine & DLP board together seperately removing the EVM board connections? and use the device ? in such a case how do I run or attach the DLP board with RGB LED Connectors only  to a different system say for now my ubuntu PC ? is there a DLP Lightcrafter display board connector available in market to connect to a different device out put say a different embedded system board? in such a case how do I test the connections and software is available to run and check and then further program on the new embedded system to display the out put I want ?

We are putting together a projector with a embedded system and need help on this?

KIndly let me know

Thanks

  • Hello Radheevar,

To clarify, are you trying to use the display board (the board with the DLPC3433 and DLPA3000) without the main board (the board with the IT6801, HDMI port, etc.)? As shown in the diagram below there is the optical engine (which contains the DMD), the display board, and the main board.

As far as using the projector with your Ubuntu system, you can simply utilize the HDMI port. If you are instead looking to create your own specialized and more compact product please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Kyle

  • Dear Kyle,

Yes what I am trying to do is attach or interface a CHIP 9$ computer ie a SOC with the DLP board and optical engine and making a device prototype this is possible right? I dont want to attach using HDMI cable right the 9$ chip does give a jack for HDMI or audio video mixed output jack and I dont want to use this instead I want to write software on the 9$ CHIP which shall directly controll the DLP chip and hence as the DLP is connected to the optical engine stuff should work ie the screen should get projected right?

Let me know How I can accomplish this and where to get a 60 PIN Board connector to 9$ chip usb or gpio connector?

    Thanks

  • Hello Radheevar,

Unless you are able to enable a parallel interface connection from the chip and connect it to the parallel input interface of the DLPC3433 this will not be possible. You would have to check the specs of the Chip device to see if this is an available mode. You may instead be interested in the DLPDLCR2000EVM that interfaces directly to a Beaglebone Black.

    Thanks,
    Kyle
