TRF7970A: Using DLP-7970abp on AM3358 Beaglebone black?

Part Number: TRF7970A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP-7970ABP

Team,

I have seen the below E2E post:
https://e2e.ti.com/support/wireless-connectivity/other-wireless/f/667/t/727013
-Are there been some success in making the Beaglebone (or BBB) working with the DLP-7970abp  (http://www.ti.com/tool/dlp-7970abp ) ?
-Could the SW be ported on recent Linux SDK releases (like processor SDK 5.x)?
-Is there plan to update the SLOA210B app note to a more recent Processor Linux SDK?

I have seen also the below interface board:
https://elinux.org/BeagleBone_Black_RFID_Adaptor_Cape
Has somebody been successful using it?
It seems to be 6 years old so I guess that SW would not run as is on the BBB Debian distro or recent TI SDK.

Thanks in advance,

A.

  • Hello AnBer,

    1) It is possible but you have to manually the wire the boards together, there is no adapter.
    2) Possibly, but any support would need to go through the third party who helped put together the example. I can provide you contact information if you think your customer would be interested in hiring them.
    3) None, what is offered is all we will offer on that platform.

The RFID adapter cape was successful and mostly what was used, but it's not easy to acquire anymore unfortunately.
