DLP4500NIR: DMD total efficiency : LED vs Laser

Part Number: DLP4500NIR
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP4500

Hi,

I'd like to know DMD efficiency as below case.

DMD : DLP4500NIR / Light sources : 780nm LED and Laser

Total Efficiency = Micromirror array fill factor x Micromirror array diffraction efficiency x Micromirror surface reflectivity x Window Transmission

DLP4500NIR datasheet shows array fill factor(92%) and window transmission(96%) but I have not been able to find the array diffraction efficiency and surface reflectivity values. I think these unknown values differ LED and laser. Could anyone please let me know the values in typical case?

Thank you.

  • Uryyy,

Please see the footnotes in the DLP4500 datasheet below:

While surface reflectivity can be estimated as that  of bulk Aluminum, diffraction efficiency is harder to predict. More information on the use case may be required.

  • Thank you Phillippe,
Is the total DMD efficiency different in LED and laser(LD)? If yes, I would like to know each total efficient values.
  • Hi Uryyy,

Kindly find the typical values of total efficiency calculated at f/2.4 in the table below.
