Hi Kyle,

I'm trying to communicate through i2c with the DLPDLCR2010EVM using an Arduino Uno.

How do I do this?

Hello Gholam,

I have split this new question into a new post from your old one to keep the questions seperated.

The DLPDLCR2010EVM can be communicated to over I2C. Therefore, you will want to use the Arduino I2C interface (www.arduino.cc/.../wire) and send commands to the EVM. However, you will want to ensure the MSP430 doesn't interfere since it also uses the I2C bus. Take a look at this post for information on having the MSP430 release the I2C bus e2e.ti.com/.../778939.

Note a similar question was asked here (e2e.ti.com/.../481244 which may be useful.

After you get the I2C communication working you can simply use the DLPC3430 programmer's guide to send the appropriate commands.

According to pdf, mentioned that we should use J13 for I2C communication as following photo,

my question is that i want to know the name of the pins respectively from 1 to 4.
and which one is SDA and SCL?

Hello Gholam,

On your picture from left to right the pins are EX_I2CPWR (3.3V), GND, EXT_SCL, and EXT_SDA.

Here is a picture of the schematic:

Note that your numbering convention is reversed from the actual numbering convention. On the right pin of your image there should be a little number 1.

I have two question:

1. Do i must connect 3.3 v from arduino to EX_I2CPWR?

2. In this link , what is SW1 ??

Hello Gholam,

1. No, as you can see in the above schematic the fuse is not installed and therefore the 3.3V is not needed.
2. The link you sent is for a DLP4710EVM. Is this what you are looking for? Or are you asking about the DLP2010EVM?

In addition when i send data to dlp , ACK LED & REQ LED is off.

Hello Gholam,

Have you disabled the MSP430 from accessing the I2C bus? Also you may want to make sure you are properly handling the Arduino library which appears to take 7-bit addresses (not 8-bit). Also, if you are able probe the I2C lines to make sure data is properly being sent out. If you have another I2C source you could confirm the bus is properly hooked up.

Hi Gholam,
Please see the link I posted above (e2e.ti.com/.../778939. You can also simultaneously press the left and right button and an LED will flash to indicate the MSP430 has released the I2C bus.
