DLP230NP: DLP230NP

Part Number: DLP230NP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP3010

I've studied the data  sheet  but remain unsure whether the micromirrors tilt about a diagonal or about each of two independent orthogonal axes parallel to mirror edges. Can anyone clarify this for me?

Thank You

Vincent

  • Hello Vincent,
Welcome to DLP forum and thank you for your interest in DLP technology.

The DLP230NP DMD is based on "TRP Pixel architecture" . www.ti.com/.../overview.html

The TRP pixel first tilts by 12 degree along the hinge (diagonal) then it roles by 12 degree along same axis to ON or OFF position. It results in 17 degree compound angle. Please refer to the section 4.1 of "Optical Engine Reference Design for DLP3010 Digital Micromirror Device" application note for further explanation of how this pixel works. DLP3010 DMD is also based on same pixel architecture.

  • Hello Vivek,

Thank you for your reply. and the link. That is very helpful.

I have another query. Are TIR prisms readily available (off-the -shelf) for the DLP230NP.? We don't want to use a normal ight engine. Our intention is to illuminate the DMD with  collimated laser light.

    Thank you

    KInd Regards
