Hello,

I have a working setup with a Pi Zero.

A small python-script waits for a falling signal on one of the Pi GPIO pins.

If this happens, i activate the EVM with "PROJ_ON_EXT" = high

After that i start a videoplayer (omxplayer).

It works fine so far... But the omxplayer needs a fews seconds to start and for this time, the splash screen of the EVM appears.

My Question is:

Is it possible to disable the splash screen, or to change it to complete black?

Hi Reiner,
Please refer to "Mode Transition and System Reconfiguration Requirements" in page 52 of "DLPC2607 software programmer's guide" for how to freeze an image (I2C command 0xA3) or force a black screen (0xA6). These command are documented in the programmer's guide.

Hi Vivek,

There is now unfortunately still a point with the splash screen, which I cannot solve.

The splash screen appears for a short time (~0.5s) and I can't prevent it. This is (because the screen was dark before) like a kind of a flash.

From my point of view, the reason is this, that after setting proj_on_ext to 1, the EVM needs a short time to start. So i have to wait additional 0.3s in my script, before I can activate the curtain. During this time the splash screen appears.

So my question is: Is there an easy way to set the splash screen to complete black?

In another thread from january i've read, that you probably plan to provide a tool for "customizing" the splash screen?

Hi Reiner,
We have to provide your a new firmware with black splash screen. We were planning to develop a tool so that customer can do it themselves. Unfortunately, it has been put on hold.

Please reach out to us when you need this firmware.
