DLP5500: Interfacing DMD chip directly with microcontroller for displaying static image

Hello,

I want to display a static image using DLP5500 or any other comparable DMD chip. I want to know if the assicaiated chipset like DLPA200 and DLPC200 is needed for displaying static image (this does not need illumination modulation as this is not greyscale image), to be precise I want to experiment with maskless lithography. I hope there must be a way to interface DMD chip directly with a microcontroller. but enough information is not provided in the DMD data sheet. can someone help me on this.

Hello Rajesh,

First, welcome to the DLP section of the TI-E2E forums.

Unfortunately a chipset is required to properly drive a DMD. However, for you experimentation you may want to start with one of our lower cost EVM's to make your tests. Use the following link to look at the various EVMs.
