DLP9000: Changing start up state to Standby

Part Number: DLP9000

When powering up the projector, it starts up in a normal power mode, with the running sequencer, and displays a default pattern in a pre-stored pattern mode:

Using DLP CLR6500 & LCR9000 GUI 4.0.1, I tried to set the Start-up state to Standby:

After pressing 'Update Firmware', an error message pops up, requesting to choose a firmware image to be updated.

In the DLP® LightCrafter™ 6500 and 9000 Evaluation Module (EVM) User's Guide, in the Section 3.9 Firmware, this error is not addressed.

Could you please advise on the easiest way how to:

- change the start-up mode to Standby;

- startup in Normal power mode but with a NON-running sequencer OR with disabled LED outputs (so that no image is displayed).

  • Hello Roman,

    You must start with a firmware to build on.  You can use the OOB image that comes with the Software download.  Check the box, "Clear all existing Pattern Images and Batch files".  Then when it builds it, rename the Master and Slave Firmwares to add Empty- on the beginning.

    Then load this firmware to the EVM.  This should start in Video mode with the ITE receiver powered down.  You can also start with an embedded batch file that loads "Prestored Pattern Mode" and then goes into standby.

    Start with the Empty firmware set and add the batch commands in the "Batch Command Sequence" tab that you want embedded.  Then on the Firmware tab give it a name that is meaningful to you by checking the "Add Batch File Label" and also check "Set as Default Batch File".  For example add DISP_MODE 0x1 (Pre-stored Pattern Mode) and POWER_CONTROL 0x1 (Standby) to your batch file.  This will start in Pre-stored Pattern mode and then go into Standby.

    I hope this helps.
