DLP3010: DLP3010 EVM G2 turned off in 10 sec

Part Number: DLP3010

I am testing DLP3010 EVM G2.

When powering on, it lights default TI image for about 10 sec, consuming 1.5 A with full brightness, and suddenly turns off.

I don't know why it happens.

I found that it doesn't turn off when adjusting the brightness to half or quarter l like current consumption is below 500 mA.

Whenever I turns on the board I have to control this brightness not to turn the board off.

Is it due to firmware setting wrt current, or timing?

How can I solve this issue to use longer without turning off?

  • Jinseong,

What are you using the power the device? What voltage rating does your supply have?

  • Hello, Philippe

I am using power supply and found one strange thing while doing this power test.

The board turns off when the current exceeds exactly 1.6 A. I don't know what it happens.

The current limit for a power supply is set to maximum, so I don't think it is the problem of the power supply.

Then here is my questions :

    1. Is there any function in the firmware limiting current of the board  .

    2. how I can set the default brightness to lower value in the firmware(That is why I want to know how to update the firmware).

Hope to hear helpful information on this
