Part Number: DLPLCR4500EVM
I have a issue that the projector stutter at 120 Hz in the video mode.
I add custom resolutions and 120Hz/ 60Hz refresh rates using intel display settings in Windows 10 and I have tried:
1) Lowering resolution from 1280x800 to 800x600 or 912 x 1140.
2) Using the projector without secondary display which has 60 Hz refresh rates.
3) Lowering 24 BITS to 8 BITS Parallel RGB using GUI.
These methods didn't work well.
Could you suggest me any other solutions to solve this issues?
Could you please clarify whether you are using the projector in the pattern mode or if you are using it in video mode? If you could also share a screenshot of the GUI configuration that would be useful.
We are glad that we were able to resolve this issue, and will now proceed to close this thread.

Here is the screen shots. As you can see refresh rates is 120 Hz hgwever, there is buffer freeze. If I move around the cursor, the motion is very choppy.
And here is the intel display settings. It only provided 60 Hz. And I made custom resolution at 120 Hz.
I hope these help you understand my issues. Thank you.

We understand your issue. We are sorry to inform you that this version of DLPC350 FW does not include support for 120Hz Video display. We plan to include this in the next version of FW, which will be released shortly. Thanks & Regards,Hirak.

In reply to Hirak Biswas:
In the description of features of DLPC350, it says that:
Video display mode of operation
You clearly state that this chip supports up to 120-Hz full color frame rates.
Could you explain about this in detail? And what FW exactly means?
We'd like you to know that the controller does support 120Hz input & display in "Pattern Sequence from Video Source" Mode. But since the target of this controller is primarily LightControl Applications, we currently do not have support for 120Hz in "video mode". FW stands for Firmware. We'll be releasing a new version of the DLPC350 controller Firmware shortly, which you can download and flash. We are trying to include 120Hz Video Mode support in that Firmware. Thanks & Regards,
Thank you for your clear explanation. I have one more question. Could you tell me approximate release date for firmware?
Hi Haein, I regret to let you know that although we are planning to release a new version of the FW within 2 weeks, the current decision is to not include support for 120Hz video mode in this release. We will consider it for a future release.
Thanks & Regards,
Is there a projector in TI that supports 120 Hz in the "video mode" for my project?
For example, DLP3010EVM-LC would work?
Kindly stay tuned, I will get more info on this and get back soon! Thanks & Regards,
Hi Haein, Thanks for being patient. Both DLP3010EVM-LC and DLP2010EVM-LC will support 120Hz input framerate in video mode. You can use either depending on your resolution requirements.
